CAC Team Talk
Jennifer Eoff
Behavioral Skills Trainer Southwest Riverside County
The day I interviewed with Comprehensive Autism Center, I knew I had found something special. It isn’t often that you find a job that allows you to be autonomous and provides a great support staff that is always available. The training and assistance the company provides prepares you for entrance into the field with confidence. One of the things I enjoy the most is the ability to take the behavioral theories I learned in school and be able to apply them in real world settings. Working with autistic children is an amazing experience, and there is nothing like the feeling that you get when you realize you have made a difference and helped a family. Working for CAC is not like any job I’ve had before, because working with these kids hardly seems like a job at all

My time with CAC has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Nothing in this world beats watching a kid break through the shell of autism. CAC’s ABA approach is results-focused and data-driven, while the staff is a group of supportive and positive minded people dedicated to the recovery of children with autism. Between the families and the staff, CAC has often felt more like a family to me than a job.”

I have been working with CAC for almost two years and I have never had a more rewarding job. I look forward to going into every session. The best part for me is to see the progress that the kids make every day as a direct result of the work that I do, and the appreciation that their family members show really means a lot. I always get a heartfelt thank you at the end of every session. The work is challenging at times but everyone is very supportive which helps a lot. The challenging days are few and far between, and they are far overshadowed by the days when I go home feeling great about the work that I did. The consultants are extremely knowledgeable and responsive and I have learned a great deal from them. The administrative staff works hard to make scheduling, payroll, and paperwork as easy as possible so I can concentrate on the kids. The holiday parties and company outings are a lot of fun too.

I love my job!! I get to go out every day and change the lives of children and of all the people around them. CAC is what makes this all possible. At CAC we all get to work as a team, from the director to the supervisor to the skills trainers, we are constantly emailing and talking and working out issues that come up. Everything that gets done is a collaborative effort and my opinions and thoughts as a skills trainer are always taken into consideration. I was excited to work in this field when I started, and through CAC all that has happened is that my excitement level for my job has grown. I go to sleep thinking about plans for the next day and when I wake up am excited about going to a job that I love, working with people I love, and being able to make a difference.

My name is Haley Helton and I would like to share my experience working for Comprehensive Autism Center. I began my career with CAC in late February of this year. I was very impressed with the professional yet approachable attitude of the company. Upon being hired, I was informed of the intense training course for the position of Behavior Skills Trainer. I was extremely awed with the content and quality of instruction. Susie Jordan and Libby Allman are patient and thorough educators and experts in the field of Applied Behavior Science. Though the course work seemed very confusing initially, they took the time to give me individual attention and seemed sincerely invested in my success. It was a wonderful learning experience which did not end in the classroom. There is supervised field training so that you can apply what you have learned into real life situations. I have never worked for any company that invested so much into their employees. Both Chris and Andrea Macken are so supportive and passionate about the success of CAC in helping those with autism and of their individual employees. It is rare to find a company with such professionalism without the intimidation to be yourself. This job has turned into a career for me and given me a new outlook on the meaning of autism. I love going to work and interacting with the families and children. Seeing their improvements and the impact I can help make is so rewarding. With the implementation of ABA, it is possible for the speechless to have words, hopeless families empowered with knowledge, and isolation to become socialization. Anyone who is interested in learning more about autism and working with kids would be very fortunate to work for CAC.

I really enjoy working with CAC. I get to work with awesome clients, as well as supportive and knowledgeable supervisors. The training that I received through CAC has provided me with the necessary tools to feel confident when working out in the field. I love my job and the families I get to serve through CAC.

Working with CAC these past 2 years has been an amazing experience. To see the dedication and commitment from our directors and trainers is truly an inspiration. They take great care to ensure that each and every employee has a voice in the programs we provide. When you begin working for CAC you are not joining a “company” but rather you are becoming a member of a family. The CAC family works as a team to provide the best service to our clients. It has been a wonderful experience working with each and every employee here at CAC, one that is unparalleled in any other position I’ve held. I’m looking forward to many more years with CAC, and I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to work with such amazing people.

I have been working with CAC for a year and a half now. I have enjoyed working with them from day one. The administrative staff has always been very supportive of their employees. I have worked with autistic children for over 10 years with different agencies. I have enjoyed working for CAC the most. I feel that Chris and Andrea have their employee’s best interests at heart as well as the families that we work for. I would be hard pressed to find another organization as great as CAC.

I have been a CAC team member for over two years, and have been extremely happy with the company. The CAC trainings have taught me so much about ABA, I feel very lucky to have the BCBA supervisors as my mentors. They are always available to assist me with any situation or questions that I may have, and the monthly team meetings for each client are very helpful to the skills trainers on each case. The administrative staff is excellent, I feel like I can always reach someone if anything comes up. The innovative software makes it easy to look at my calendar and render my appointments, it saves a lot of time not having to fax time cards and mileage sheets. I also really enjoy doing the training webinars from the comfort of my own computer; the technology utilized at CAC is second to none! And last but not least, one of my favorite things about CAC is all the great team building events they do. Most recently, we had a day at the Padres game, it was really a blast getting to know everyone at CAC on a personal level. If you are looking for a great company to work for, I would highly recommend CAC!

Working with CAC was an extraordinary experience. I had never worked with anything autism-related or used ABA before working here. The training and field observations were very thorough, and I felt confident when I started working with my own clients. Also, the supervisors and team members were always available to help me and answer any questions I had. CAC is a company that balances integrity and professionalism with intimacy and communication. Of course, the best part about this job was working with the clients and their families. It was amazing and incredibly rewarding to help the children acquire new skills and become more and more competent in their daily lives. I am now going to graduate school for Speech-Language Pathology, but I will always remember what I learned and experienced while working with CAC.

CAC has been a great company to work for. The amount of training I’ve had and the level of communication and support from Chris, Andrea and the rest of the team has really impressed me. It is nice to work for a small company with such friendly and involved people who make you feel that they appreciate your work. At times being a BST can be challenging or stressful, but I’ve also had some really rewarding experiences and I’ve met some great people among the families I’ve worked with and the people who work for CAC.

What I was looking for was a company that’s dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those affected by autism, what I found was Comprehensive Autism Center. The past year with CAC has been an incredible experience for me, both personally and professionally. From day one there has been a feeling of solidarity among the Directors, Consultants and Skills Trainers on the CAC team. Open communication is highly encouraged and allows team members to work together comfortably, providing the best and most comprehensive therapy for the child. Although CAC continues to grow, an intimate feeling remains within our team. I have truly enjoyed every moment I’ve spent with the children I work with, and every experience I’ve shared with my team members at CAC.
